YAYYYYY! March 2011

After falling way behind writing on here i am finally caught up!!! But March is 1/2way over so i better keep it up!! :)

I cannot believe Madison is 6 months old as of last monday!! Where did the time go?? She still hasn't mastered the crawl but is getting pretty dang good at it! She gets around and she does it quickly! She has also started to hold on to things and stand up.. like her crib! That scares me bad! i am so paranoid she's gonna fall out!

So we started "sleep training" because i failed to listen to everyone's advice when they told me to stop rocking her to sleep and let her put herself to sleep! By this age "experts" say she should be able to "self soothe" BUT up until now we have rocked her to sleep(even for naps)! So she wakes up in the middle of the night and has no idea how to fall back asleep unless we get up and rock her! Not cool! lol! Also, up until 2 nights ago she was still in her pack n play right next to my bed! So we made the BIG move to her own bedroom! We tried the crib but she keeps pulling herself up.. so we just moved the pack n play in there for now! I am trying to make the transition as smooth as possible. Once she has learned how to self soothe i will move her to her crib! We are loosely following the "Cry it Out" method! Breaks my heart to hear her cry but i know in the end it will be better for the both of us! She just isn't getting enough sleep and something has to change! The 1st night she woke up every 3 hours! We caved 2/3 times and picked her up and rocked her! But she did initially fall asleep on her own after 3 min. of crying! Last night she went down with absolutely no fussing and then woke up only ONCE! She woke at  1:30am and by 2:30 when she was still crying i gave James the Okay to go rock her! She went right back to sleep and slept til 7am! Not perfect but getting there!! Hope she has it down by next week..momma needs some sleep! haha!
