The AFTERBIRTH!!

We finally made it home one day after Madison was born. Things seemed PEREFCT! It felt so nice to be home! My in laws were able to stay the rest of the week to help out. I felt very sore and tired but didnt think much of it because i had just delivered a baby :)

By the time the weekend came i started to notice that the majority of the pain had gone away or decreased with the exception of a HORRIBLE headache that would not stop! So i researched it online and came to the conclusion that i had a "spinal headache"

..::Definition::..

By Mayo Clinic staff
Spinal headaches occur in up to 30 percent of those who undergo a spinal tap (lumbar puncture) or spinal anesthesia. Both procedures require a puncture of the tough membrane that surrounds the spinal cord and, in the lower spine, lumbar and sacral nerve roots.

During a spinal tap, a sample of cerebrospinal fluid is withdrawn from your spinal canal. During spinal anesthesia, medication is injected into your spinal canal to numb the nerves in the lower half of your body. If spinal fluid leaks through the tiny puncture site, you may develop a spinal headache.

Most spinal headaches — also known as post-lumbar puncture headaches — resolve on their own with no treatment. However, spinal headaches lasting 24 hours or more may need treatment.

I tried to tough it out but after a few days it was not getting better. The in laws had to leave on Sunday and without them there i knew i wouldn't have as much help so i needed to get better. That is when i decided to go to the emergency room. James and i went and left Madison with Grandma Shine. I was a mess... soooo not ready to leave her yet but i knew that i would come back a BETTER mother. When we got there they determined it was in fact a spinal headache and gave me a blood patch.

■Epidural blood patch. Injecting a small amount of your blood into the space over the puncture hole will often form a clot to seal the hole, restoring normal pressure in the spinal fluid and relieving your headache. This is the usual treatment for persistent spinal headaches that don't resolve on their own.

Almost immediately i felt relief. It was AMAZING! I was so happy to feel like a normal person again!
Ready to be a mom and love life ♥

If asked;
Would you get another epidural?

HELL YES! LoL! After i got the epidural (2nd one) i was one happy girl! It was AMAZING!! :)
The only thing i would do differently is get to the emergency room sooner to get "fixed"! Forget that "tough it out" stuff! LoL!
